Honoring someone special!

People always say that we should honor and respect our elders but what about those that are our age???? Do we think to honor them and tell them how much we love them, respect them, or take for granted the things they do????

Over the last little while I have taken for granted someone that I love dearly. I have not said "I love you" enough nor shown that love threw respect and action. It can be hard to do things when you have kids and I know that; but how often do we take time to things for others...you know those people that are not in our family? Or even our kids rather than saying "I'm busy right now, I love you and I can do this with you later." We make excuses for our actions thinking they justify our motives, but do they really justify what we are trying to do.

Today I am here to tell my husband that I love him....You are my best friend! I respect you and I am sorry for taking you for granted. I know that you are always there for me and the kids, and I am noticing how much harder it is when your not around. I love having you here with me. You do complete me. That may sound corny, but its true, you make me stronger by your strength, your wisdom and knowledge. When you speak you have many amazing things to say, and the way you talk is becoming more sexy. Yes I said SEXY!

I love you and I want the world to know it!!!!! I am pledging to you today that I will try harder to be a better wife, friend and lover, because you deserve it!

Its been a while

SO many people have been asking me to start posting again.......

Here it goes.......

Hahahah.....

K what I can I say... I have no excuse as to why I have not been on here for so long. I have been addicted to Facebook and it has over taken blogging, but I am back and I will try and get some pictures of the kids and update you all.

We have been busy this summer. I can't believe that its almost over. Only 2 weeks and the kids are back in school. I love having them home with me but we have no consistency in what is going on from day to day and I like being a little more structured. The kids are not looking forward to going back to school either, they like being home with me, and I do love having them home as well, though I would like to have a break from them from time to time. Right now nugget is into Spiderman big time. Everything has to be Spiderman. Jr. still loves sports and would play every minute of the day possible if we had the time and finances to get him into everything he had an interest in. Pug is into Hannah Montana and Camp Rock.

Well for the first blog in a long time I think this is enough but I will be back with more......

Watch Out World - Here He Comes.

We may bump heads from time to time,

We may not see eye to eye very often right now,

He may not have the greatest attention span, (He's 8)

But, when he gets into something, Watch out World!

God's Provision

This is just a short note to let everyone know that I will never doubt that God has my back covered, that we are ALL in his hands.

Earlier this week, my wife received a long-awaited cheque from her late local grandma's estate. It turns out that it was enough to do our basement renovations from start to finish as well as pay off some debt.

After the usual, we can buy .... , and we can do ... , I heard the words "Slow Down".

We paid down some debt, Tithed and gave an Offering and arranged our savings to do the basement.

*** Fast Forward to my Friday night shift at work ***

Without any notice, I was called into the Plant Managers office, "he never works nights." Myself and 11 other people were permanently laid off effective Friday, October 12th 2007.

Suddenly, a possible long term job had disappeared and I was back at square one wondering when my employment challenge would end. The hours went by as I tried to figure out how I would break the news to my wife, who has heard this before. I remembered James 1:2-3 and spent some time trying to find the good in this situation.

Have you ever been able to look at something and work backwards through different events to see how well He has everything planned out for us? I just lost my job 4 days after we received the inheritance cheque.

1) He knew we would spend it on "stuff" if we got it early.

2) He knew that we would suffer un-necessary financial and relational stress if it showed up late.

3) He is so perfect that it showed up just on time that we had a chance to look at what SHOULD be done with the money instead of what COULD be done with it.

The bottom line is...He takes care of those He loves in such a perfect way that ALL you can do is sit back in Awe and Thank Him.

Story of the Van

Sorry its been 2 days, things got crazy here yesterday and I was tired by the end of the day so ended up going to sleep a little early.

Now details. Well lets start a few months ago, Jay said that he didn't want to have to ride his bike to work in the winter when he was on Afternoon's and we had decided to look at getting one before Christmas. A little while later GOD gave me a price that we were going to spend on the van, and I started praying for it, as did we name each of our offering seeds.

So Thursday night, we had friends over and one of them works for a company that has deals with some dealerships that you can get a new vehicle for 3% over cost. Well that same night Jay had some running around to do and ended up at a dealership and stopped at the 3rd or 4th car in the lot and right away called me laughing. He called me and asked if I wanted a good laugh, I asked why and then he told me where he was and that he had just stopped there looked at the price and wanted details. The price on the van was exactly what I had told him. He looks at the vehicle and tells the guy to put it on hold or us "On wife's approval we will buy the vehicle."

When he gets home he tells me this and on Friday we went and just had a look at it cause the dealership was closing in a few minutes.

On Saturday we took it for a test drive. Jay drove first.... good handling, very clean. When I go to drive it back to the dealership it is pouring rain so much that I could not see more then 50 feet in front of me, but I was confident and I really liked the way it handled. So we signed the papers and it was going to be ours on Tuesday.

I truly believe that this van was meant for us. God directed us to it and helped us through each step of the way, and I am truly grateful.
